Young Musicians Project
In its third year, the Young Musicians Project (YMP) has provided a fantastic experience for student musicians in grades 7 - 12 in Oneida and Madison Counties. The project benefits local student musicians seeking an opportunity to perform in a small ensemble setting.

CCS sent 22 students to Rome Free Academy on November 15 for workshops and recitals. Maggie Bailey, Leah Borton, Samuel Butcher, Roxee Hughes, Emily Le, Jane Lee, Jacob Lewis, Sam Hernandez, Joseph Lewis, Joshua Heintz, Hannah Deering, Izzy Marcus, Isla McCullough, Henry Memmer, Ian Nessl, Chris Rivera, Jason Rivera, Sofia Rojo, Maddi Walters, Oliver Walters, Alison Wratten, and Elizabeth Wratten spent the afternoon working with master teachers from Central Winds and rehearsed for a recital later that evening.

Clinton Central School Plastic Film Recycling Challenge
Clinton Central School
Plastic Film Recycling Challenge

Clinton Central School is taking part in a Plastic Film Recycling Challenge to celebrate American Recycles Day (November 15th). For this Challenge, students will be asked to collect plastic film (i.e. grocery bags, bread bags, Ziploc bags and more) which can only be recycled through take-back programs offered by grocery stores and retailers in NYS.

The goal of this Challenge is to educate the community on proper recycling of plastic grocery bags and other plastic film items, which cannot be recycled through regular curbside recycling programs. This initiative focuses on collecting clean, dry plastic film in order to keep it out of our region's landfill.

Clinton is competing against other schools in Oneida and Herkimer Counties to collect the most plastic film per capita. We will be collecting plastic film from November 15th - December 22nd.

Please begin saving the items listed below and sending them to school with students for proper recycling!

Acceptable Items (must be CLEAN and DRY):
  • Grocery bags
  • Bread bags
  • Case overwrap
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Ice bags
  • Wood pellet bags
  • Ziploc & other reclosable bags
  • Produce bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Salt bags
  • Cereal bags
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Meredith Callaghan (mcallaghan@ccs.edu) or Denise Toia-Kramer (dtoiakramer@ccs.edu)

Thank you in advance for helping our students keep plastic film out of the landfill!
