Change for Change
Natalie Cortright is an incredible fourth grade student with a huge heart! She won the Santoli Award last school year and she used the money she was awarded to "pay it forward" by starting Change for Change in the elementary school!!! Change for Change is a program where students, parents, and faculty members gave their loose change to be donated to a charity. The elementary school raised $602.04 and the students voted to donate the money to Spring Farm Cares!!! Thank you to Natalie and all the generosity that made this fundraiser possible!!!

Holiday Donations for CCS Families
In this time of giving please remember we have many families in our community that will be facing financial difficulties. Our middle and high school offices are sponsoring several families for Christmas. If you would like to give to our community, please consider a monetary donation or gift card. Either can be dropped off in the high school guidance office. Thank you in advance!

Clinton Central School Plastic Film Recycling Challenge
Clinton Central School
Plastic Film Recycling Challenge

Clinton Central School is taking part in a Plastic Film Recycling Challenge to celebrate American Recycles Day (November 15th). For this Challenge, students will be asked to collect plastic film (i.e. grocery bags, bread bags, Ziploc bags and more) which can only be recycled through take-back programs offered by grocery stores and retailers in NYS.

The goal of this Challenge is to educate the community on proper recycling of plastic grocery bags and other plastic film items, which cannot be recycled through regular curbside recycling programs. This initiative focuses on collecting clean, dry plastic film in order to keep it out of our region's landfill.

Clinton is competing against other schools in Oneida and Herkimer Counties to collect the most plastic film per capita. We will be collecting plastic film from November 15th - December 22nd.

Please begin saving the items listed below and sending them to school with students for proper recycling!

Acceptable Items (must be CLEAN and DRY):
  • Grocery bags
  • Bread bags
  • Case overwrap
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Ice bags
  • Wood pellet bags
  • Ziploc & other reclosable bags
  • Produce bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Salt bags
  • Cereal bags
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Meredith Callaghan (mcallaghan@ccs.edu) or Denise Toia-Kramer (dtoiakramer@ccs.edu)

Thank you in advance for helping our students keep plastic film out of the landfill!

California Wildfire Fundraiser
California continues to battle the raging wildfires that plague many residents' homes and businesses. It is a natural disaster that has caused individuals to lose not only their homes and belongings but their memories and lives as they know it. Between the months of January and November more than 500,000 acres have burned and that number continues to grow. Recently more than 110,000 people have been forced to evacuate and almost 9,000 homes are without power. Winds are reaching speeds of nearly 85 MPH which is causing the raging fires to spread even further across the state.

Rachel's Warriors strives to help organizations both locally and around the world. We want to make a difference for those in need. In an effort to do this we are collecting monetary donations to help the California wildfire victims. Many of these individuals have faced great devastation and any contribution will help aid victims in their road to recovery.

Donations will be accepted through Wednesday, December 20th. All monetary donations can be given to Mrs. Ford in room 213 or Mrs. Hosey Pardi in the guidance office. We hope that you will join Rachel's Warriors in an effort to make a difference for the wildfire victims!
