Records fall for CCS Indoor Track
The CCS Indoor Track teams have been chewing up the record books in recent meets this season.

For the boys:

Junior Robert Musante set a new record in the 45 meter dash of 5.9 (hand-held time) to surpass the 6.0 record that was shared by Nick Williams (2014/15) & Nick Kowalczyk (2015/16). Both "Nicks" ended up running after graduation for Utica College.

8th graders Kass Gifford and Mesafint Ellingson have exploded onto the scene by significantly contributing to the team's point totals on the scoreboard.

Only half-way through the season Gifford has already surpassed the school record for "points in a season by an 8th grader" with 47 so far. However, this record is far from "in stone" as Ellingson is right on Gifford's heels with 46 points of his own! The old record was 10 set by distance stand-out Jon Kulpa as an 8th grader in 2010/11. Kulpa also went on to run for Utica College.

Not to be outdone, the girls have responded with record setting performances as well:

Sophomore Gloria Kramer broke the 45 dash record in 6.5 (hand-held time) previously held by Victoria Gudnaya of 6.6 in 2015/16.

Fellow Sophomore Roxee Hughes took down the 50 meter hurdles record in 8.5 (hand-held time) to surpass "multiple state meet athlete" Alayna Lofgren's 8.7 from 2015/16.

Senior Taylor Highers teamed up with Juniors Emmeline MacPherson and Eva Borton as well as Freshman Taylor Harvey to break the school record in the Sprint Medley Relay in a time of 4:35.74 (old record of 4:36.91 was set in 2013/14 by Emma Short, Ellen Arnison, Nina Salerno & Haley Allen).

In the field, Senior Libby Militello partnered with Junior Brenna Masner to break the 2X20 pound Weight Throw record of 57'11.50" set by Anissa (Utica College) Lewis and Hannah Elia in 2015/16 with a combined distance of 58' 2.25"!

The boys team has placed first in 4 out of their 5 meets so far this season with a third place showing coming over vacation at the 30 school Oscar Jensen relays in Syracuse.

The girls team has finished first twice, second twice and 6th at the same 30 school invite over vacation.

The squad participates in one more 24-school invite on Tuesday 1/9/18 at Colgate University before gearing up for the Center State Conference Championship meet on Friday 1/12/18 at Colgate University at 4:30 pm!
