Elementary School Green Team Morning Message
The Green Team Recycling Message of the week was read by Amelia Russell.

This week, our message is about recycling crayons and markers. Do you usually throw away crayons when they are too small? Do you throw away markers when they dry out? Did you know that you can recycle those crayons and markers right in the elementary school front hallway?

The PTA has set up two boxes to collect crayons and markers. When we have collected a lot we will send them away to be recycled. The crayons will be made into new crayons for children who are in the hospital. Markers can be recycled and turned into energy.

For more information on The Crayon Initiative, please visit https://thecrayoninitiative.org/. To learn more about marker recycling, visit Crayola's ColorCycle website: http://www.crayola.com/colorcycle.

The Green Team will continue to work on making our school and community greener. For more information, please contact Denise Toia-Kramer at dtoiakramer@ccs.edu.

Elementary School Science Fair
This year's Elementary School Science Fair was held on March 14. Students from Kindergarten to 5th grade explored a wide variety of topics including volcanoes, evaporation, electricity, friction and everything in between! Each student that participated created a display board and presented their findings to the judges. It was a great opportunity for students to dig deeper and learn more about topics that interest them. Congratulations to all of the students that participated!

Hamilton College Presents Carl DuPont, Bass-Baritone - Friday, April 6, 7:30 pm
The Hamilton College Department of Music presents a recital by bass-baritone Carl DuPont on Friday, April 6, at 7:30 pm in Wellin Hall, Schambach Center for Music and the Performing Arts.

DuPont, an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, presents an evening of art songs by black composers for bass and baritone voice. This performance brings rare and neglected works to the concert stage.

DuPont is a vocalist equally engaged in teaching, performing, and research. He made his first operatic appearance as a boy soprano in the title role of Amahl and the Night Visitors in his hometown of Daytona Beach, FL, and has been singing ever since. Lately, he has been celebrated for his “dramatic, dark tones” (South Florida Classical Review) on stage as Leporello in Don Giovanni, the title character in Dennis Rodman in North Korea, and Jim in Porgy and Bess at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. He has performed as a soloist with the Winston Salem Symphony, Rochester Oratorio Society, Southwest Florida Symphony, and the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra.

This concert is free and open to the public. All seating is general admission. For tickets or information, call the box office at 315-859-4331 or visit hamilton.edu/performingarts.
