Ice Cream Social and Bike Rodeo
It was another successful year for the PTA's Ice Cream Social and Utica Bike Rescue's Bike Rodeo! Families came to the elementary school on June 14 for some free ice cream and to learn about bike safety! Volunteers from Utica Bike Rescue checked things like the fit of the children's helmets and air pressure of the tires. There was also a bike course where the children had to stay on the course, stop for stop signs, and look both ways before continuing. The children received a certificate for successfully completing the course. The CCS PTA would like to thank all of the volunteers that helped plan and run the events of the evening, Utica Bike Rescue for their amazing job putting on the Bike Rodeo, and Byrne Dairy for donating the ice cream and bowls for the event!

Crayon and Marker Recycling

As the end of the school year approaches, teachers and students will likely be looking to dispose of lots of used school supplies.

Rather than throwing them out, the following items can be dropped off in the bins located near the front entrance of the elementary school.

  • Crayons
  • Markers
  • Highlighters
  • Dry Erase Markers

The used crayons will be sent off to The Crayon Initiative to be recycled into new crayons that will be donated to children's hospitals!

Markers will be shipped to Crayola for recycling.

Thank you for helping to keep these items out of the landfills!

Box Tops
Box Tops are a great way to help earn money for Clinton Elementary just by clipping labels on products you may already use.

Here are some additional tips and information regarding Box Tops:
  • Box Tops can be found on participating brands of cereal, cake mixes, tissues, and other products.
  • Each Box Top is worth 10 cents for Clinton Elementary.
  • Typically the money is used for playground equipment and renovations.
  • You can bring in Box Tops to the collection bin inside the main entrance of the elementary school or send them to school with your child on a Collection Sheet or in an envelope or bag.
  • Please note that the Box Tops program does not accept expired Box Tops.
Thank you for participating!
