Farm to School Sample Day
The first Harvest of the Month (locally grown Zucchini) taste testing was a success!! The CCS PTA Farm to School Committee, working with OHM BOCES Food Service and the Mohawk Valley Farm to School Initiative, served samples of this month's Harvest of the Month (Zucchini Parmesan) to students in the elementary school cafeteria. Zucchini Parmesan is a homemade, gluten free, vegetarian side dish option that will be served as today's vegetable. Many of the students were excited to try a new dish and loved it! Thank you to the cafeteria staff and all of the volunteers for making the first sample day a success!

A fresh tray of Zucchini Parmesan is ready to be served

4th Grader Jude Leising takes a big bite of his sample

Congratulations Upstanders!

Congratulations Upstanders!

Rachel’s Warriors proudly awarded and recognized our middle school upstanders for the months of April-June at our June 19th Board of Education meeting. These students were awarded with a certificate, a pizza party and a free dance admission ticket.

An upstander is an individual who notices something wrong and acts on it. It is a person who takes a stand against an act of injustice or intolerance. All of these students did this in some way and were anonymously nominated by a peer.

Congratulations Start with Hello Ambassadors!

Rachel’s Warriors also awarded a certificate to several individuals that showed great leadership with our Start with Hello program.

Start with Hello is an initiative to encourage students to be a friend to students who are showing signs of social isolation. The concept is simple, see someone alone, reach out and help, start with hello. These students showed great character by reaching out and being a friend to others.

Congratulations to these students for reaching out to others, being a good friend, and helping to create a kind and caring community at Clinton Central Middle school.
