Dear Parents,
Each year in celebration of National Teacher Appreciation Week, the Clinton Central School PTA hosts a luncheon to honor and celebrate our teachers, faculty, and staff. Everyone who is employed by the district, from administrators to crossing guards, is invited to attend and the PTA provides a beautifully catered multi-course lunch buffet. It is one of our favorite events of the year and we always look forward to honoring our wonderful school employees on this day.
We are looking for volunteers to make desserts for the event or to help serve lunch. Food would need to be delivered to the Atrium on Thursday, May 9 between 8 am and 10 am since the first group comes for lunch around 10:45. We need volunteers to help serve and prep between 9 am and 3 pm. We are using Perfect Potluck to coordinate volunteers. If you are able to provide dessert or volunteer your time (even a half hour helps) please sign up here.
If you would like more information about this event or if you would like to help out in other ways, please email us at ccsnypta@gmail.com and once again, THANK YOU for your continued support.
Sincerely,
The CCS PTA

The CCS PTA Farm to School Committee, working with OHM BOCES Food Service and the Mohawk Valley Farm to School Initiative, has launched a new Harvest of the Month sampling program. Harvest of the Month is a Farm to School initiative that promotes a seasonal, locally grown item each month. A day or two before the Harvest of the Month is listed on the menu each month, the elementary school kitchen staff will prepare a batch of the menu item for volunteers to serve samples to students in the cafeteria. The idea is to encourage the students to try something new and maybe even choose it for lunch later in the week. Below is our sample schedule:
Menu Item | Sample Date | Date Listed on Menu |
---|---|---|
Cheesy Kale Bake | May 21 | May 23 |
Cucumber Yogurt Dip | June 4 | June 6 |
If you would like to join the Farm to School committee, please email us at farmtoschool@ccspta.info You can also help by encouraging your child to try the samples offered! Thank you for your support!
Purpose gives individuals the sense that they are put on this earth for a reason and that they are somehow connected with humanity or the universe. People who possess a sense of purpose believe that they were put on earth for a reason. That reason can have all kinds of variety. It could be to create a unique invention, to bring joy through art or music, or to raise their children to become good people. These people have a true calling.
One of the most insightful and impactful researchers of this strength was Viktor Frankl, the author of Man's Search for Meaning. Frankl analyzed and wrote about his experiences in Auschwitz concentration camp during World War II. Frankl's experiences taught him that purpose provides strength and that "Those who have a 'why' to life, can bear with almost any 'how'."

Clinton boys and girls track attended 3 invitational meets over spring break. With over half of the squad away...those who were left did a fantastic job.
Both squads finished second to class AA Liverpool at the Chittenango invitational on Friday 4/12.
CCS braved the elements and torrential wind and rain to finish strong in the 18 school contest.
On Wednesday 4/17 CCS attended the non-scoring West Hill Invitational.
It was a chance for athletes to forget about the score-board, take some risks and amass peak performances without having to double or triple back in events for team points.
Sophomore Taylor Harvey responded with a school record in the 2000 meter steeplechase with a time of 7:36.17 (old record was held by Gabrielle Dewhurst from 2017 with a 7:42.4).
Senior Emmeline MacPherson, Junior Roxee Hughes and Freshman Kate Stockwell teamed up to erase the old 3X100 Shuttle hurdle record of 55.2 set just last year with a combined time of 51.88!
Not to be outdone...Senior Justin Stell, Junior Luke Stell and Senior Nate Ostrander turned the same trick eclipsing the old 3x110 shuttle hurdle record of 53.1 with their own new record of 52.22!
On Friday 4/19 CCS attended the Cook/Destefano invitational at Proctor.
The girls team won the meet and the boys finished second behind host AA Proctor.
