To all of the teachers, bus drivers, custodians, kitchen staff, nurses, aides, and other CCS staff - THANK YOU SO MUCH for all that you do for our children every day! We are so grateful for all of the hard work, time, love, and maybe even tears that you put into helping us raise and educate our children!

The CCS PTA Farm to School Committee, working with OHM BOCES Food Service and the Mohawk Valley Farm to School Initiative, has launched a new Harvest of the Month sampling program. Harvest of the Month is a Farm to School initiative that promotes a seasonal, locally grown item each month. A day or two before the Harvest of the Month is listed on the menu each month, the elementary school kitchen staff will prepare a batch of the menu item for volunteers to serve samples to students in the cafeteria. The idea is to encourage the students to try something new and maybe even choose it for lunch later in the week. Below is our sample schedule:
Menu Item | Sample Date | Date Listed on Menu |
---|---|---|
Kale Dusted Popcorn | May 16 | |
Cheesy Kale Bake | May 21 | May 22 |
Cucumber Yogurt Dip | June 11 | June 13 |
If you would like to join the Farm to School committee, please email us at farmtoschool@ccspta.info You can also help by encouraging your child to try the samples offered! Thank you for your support!
Rachel’s Warriors proudly awarded and recognized our middle school upstanders for the months of January-March at the April Board of Education meeting. These students were awarded with a certificate, a pizza party and a free dance admission ticket.
An upstander is an individual who notices something wrong and acts on it. It is a person who takes a stand against an act of injustice or intolerance. All of these students did this in some way and were anonymously nominated by a peer or staff member.
Congratulations to these students for reaching out to others, being a good friend, and helping to create a kind and caring community at Clinton Central Middle school.

Other People Matter is our motto, hashtag, and the spirit of the movement we are building. It originated with Dr. Chris Peterson, one of the founders of positive psychology and Mike Erwin's mentor and advisor in graduate school. Other People Matter was Chris' thesis resulting from his decades of research.
As Chris wrote in 2008, he would often begin lectures by stating, "I can sum up positive psychology in just three words – Other People Matter. Period. Anything that builds relationships between and among people is going to make you happy." Chris passed away suddenly in October 2012 and we are proud to carry on his legacy through the research on character and relationships that he led.
