From the PTA
The Clinton Central School Parent Teacher Association (PTA) provides a very important and active link between school and home and promotes the welfare of students in our school system. Research shows that parental involvement in a child's education is critical to the child's success in school and later in life. We encourage you to become involved with our Clinton Central School PTA and to take advantage of the opportunities and programs we offer our children.

By attending meetings, volunteering and sharing your ideas with us, the Clinton Central School PTA can keep growing, changing and expanding to meet the needs of the local school community. Click here for the 2017-2018 membership form.

Please contact the PTA at ccsnypta@gmail.com if you're interested in volunteering or have any questions. Thank you in advance for your support!

Within the next few weeks, we will start sending the newsletter using MemberHub. We noticed that MemberHub emails going to Yahoo email addresses tend to default to the spam folder. Update to Elementary School Pick Up Procedure
Dear Parents and Families,

Thank you for working with us this week to help us determine the safest and easiest method to dismiss our students. To summarize the feedback we have received, having parents come in the building to sign their child out does not provide for a safe environment. It causes congestion in the hallway and in the parking lot.

Several parents suggested that dismissal remain the same as it has been done in the past EXCEPT... during bus dismissal only district employees be allowed on the sidewalk in front of the building. All parents and families are asked to wait until the buses have left the front loop before they enter the front sidewalk to pick up their child.

The procedure for parking in the front loop will remain the same. After the buses depart, you will be directed to park all the way down as far as possible and retrieve your child in front of the building.

We will begin this process on Wednesday, Sept. 13. As always, your feedback is welcomed.

Thank you again,
Ellen Leuthauser

International Dot Day - Friday, September 15
This global celebration of literature, creativity, courage and collaboration began when teacher Terry Shay introduced his classroom to Peter H. Reynolds’ book "The Dot" on September 15, 2009. Please help us celebrate on Friday, September 15th, by having your elementary students dress up in anything they have that has dots on it!

Welcome "A Better Chance of Clinton & the Mohawk Valley" 2017-2018 boys!
Clinton High School and the Village of Clinton, NY, are proud to host one of just 22 ABC Community School Programs in the United States.

Clinton ABC was founded in 1972 by community members who shared the vision of preparing talented students of color for positions of responsibility and leadership in American society. For more than 40 years, people in Clinton and the Mohawk Valley have opened their hearts and homes as teachers, mentors, host families, coaches and especially as friends to the ABC scholars enrolled at Clinton High School. In turn, these extraordinary young men have contributed their talents, skills and perspectives in the classroom, on stage, on the field and in our community.

The program in Clinton has a long record of success. All Clinton ABC graduates – more than 90 since the first students joined our community in 1972 – have been admitted to college and gone on to lead lives of consequence as doctors, lawyers, engineers, teachers and businessmen.
