Box Tops are a great way to help earn money for your child's school just by clipping labels on products you may already use. Here are some additional tips and information regarding Box Tops:
* Box Tops can be found on all General Mills Cereals, Pillsbury, Yoplait, Kleenex, Old El Paso, Nature Valley, Hefty, Ziploc, and many other household staples.
* Each Box Top you send in means 10 cents going back to our school.
* Box Tops For Education will not accept expired labels, so please check expiration dates before sending them in.
* Box Tops can be submitted in ziploc bags, envelopes, or attached to collection sheets.
* You can download a collection sheet here.
* Please label your submissions with your child's name and grade level.
You can sign up at boxtops4education.com to keep track of our earnings, shop the Marketplace for eBoxtops, and get coupons for your grocery shopping.
Last year our school earned over $1,300 from this easy and FREE fundraiser and we would like to earn even more money for our school this year.

Clinton Central School Plastic Film Recycling Challenge
Clinton Central School
Plastic Film Recycling Challenge

Clinton Central School is taking part in a Plastic Film Recycling Challenge to celebrate American Recycles Day (November 15th). For this Challenge, students will be asked to collect plastic film (i.e. grocery bags, bread bags, Ziploc bags and more) which can only be recycled through take-back programs offered by grocery stores and retailers in NYS.

The goal of this Challenge is to educate the community on proper recycling of plastic grocery bags and other plastic film items, which cannot be recycled through regular curbside recycling programs. This initiative focuses on collecting clean, dry plastic film in order to keep it out of our region's landfill.

Clinton is competing against other schools in Oneida and Herkimer Counties to collect the most plastic film per capita. We will be collecting plastic film from November 15th - December 22nd.

Please begin saving the items listed below and sending them to school with students for proper recycling!

Acceptable Items (must be CLEAN and DRY):
  • Grocery bags
  • Bread bags
  • Case overwrap
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Ice bags
  • Wood pellet bags
  • Ziploc & other reclosable bags
  • Produce bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Salt bags
  • Cereal bags
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Meredith Callaghan (mcallaghan@ccs.edu) or Denise Toia-Kramer (dtoiakramer@ccs.edu)

Thank you in advance for helping our students keep plastic film out of the landfill!

Girls Saturday Morning Basketball

Cross Country News
The CCS girls cross country team won the section III class C-2 Championship Saturday 11/4/17 @ VVS.

CCS finished 3rd in the over-all class C merged results. The winning team of the merged results (Syracuse CBA) advances to the state championships as a team.

Junior Eva Borton was the individual race winner securing her third trip to the NY State XC Championships as an individual!

Freshman Taylor Harvey finished 4th overall to earn her first ever individual trip to the New York State Championships to be run on 11/11/17 at Wayne HS in Rochester.

The team title was CCS's 4th in school history and is the first since the 1989 season in which long-time CCS coach Lori Hunt's XC team won the over-all class C title as well as the NYS class C team Championship.

On the boys side, senior Andrew Ford finished 5th over-all in the merged class C results and earned his first ever trip to the NY State championships!

The boys team finished 3rd in the C-2 meet (to C-2 champion Hannibal & runner-up Port Byron/Union Springs) and 8th in the merged over-all C results.

The boys once again narrowly missed out on the ever elusive sectional championship (CCS boys finished 2nd last season). CCS boys have come close...but have never won the XC sectional title.

CCS was able to salvage some revenge in a moral victory by beating rival Adirondack (who won the CSC league title over CCS on the tie-breaker system earlier in the season).

"It was a nice way for the senior boys to close out their XC careers together as a team".
