Clinton Central School Plastic Film Recycling Challenge
The Clinton Elementary School Green Team had their second meeting to learn more about recycling and to weigh bags of plastic film which have been collected for recycling. The Green Team is comprised of 31 fourth and fifth grade students who have an interest in helping our environment. With the help of Mrs. Moshier and Mrs. Toia-Kramer, the Green Team students weighed the bags of plastic film which were then brought to Hannaford's to be recycled. Currently, all of our schools are collecting plastic film as part of the Oneida Herkimer Solid Waste Authority's Plastic Film Recycling Challenge. The Challenge continues until December 22. Please continue to send in the following items:

  • Grocery bags
  • Bread bags
  • Case overwrap
  • Dry cleaning bags
  • Newspaper sleeves
  • Ice bags
  • Wood pellet bags
  • Ziploc & other reclosable bags
  • Produce bags
  • Bubble wrap
  • Salt bags
  • Cereal bags
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Meredith Callaghan (mcallaghan@ccs.edu) or Denise Toia-Kramer (dtoiakramer@ccs.edu).

Thank you in advance for helping our students keep plastic film out of the landfill!
